The Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography, a public cultural institution that functions under the authority of the Cluj County Council, in collaboration with the FlutePianoArt Association, invite you on Thursday, July 20, from 6:00 p.m., to participate in the “Romanian Metamorphoses” project. The event includes a conference concert about Romanian classical music and its origins in traditional music.
Flutist Diana Nedelea, piano-player Loreta Porumbescu and musicologist Andra Pătraș will present works for flute and piano by: Bela Bartok, Petre Elinescu, Sigismund Toduță, Grigoraș Dinicu. Through this form of concert, accompanied by the explanations of a musicologist, the project aims to present classical music to the public, both through sound and story. The conference concert is supported by the FlutePIanoArt Association, which aims to organize cultural and educational events, especially to promote young musicians.
The event will take place at the Museum headquarters - Reduta Palace – 21 Memorandum street.

Diana Alexandra Nedelea is a graduate of the National University of Music in Bucharest. Among its most important stage appearances are: the events organized by AdMusicam, the Conference organized by the Department for Inter-Ethnic Relations, “Bartok and Enescu-a friendship in the universal language of music”, Concerts within the Festival organized by Creart “Symphonies on Asphalt”. Since the spring of 2017, she has been a member of the Brașov Opera Orchestra, in which she is still active.
Piano-player Loreta Porumbescu completed her bachelor’s and master’s studies at the National University of Music in Bucharest, benefiting from an Erasmus scholarship at the Music Academy in Malmo, Sweden. His activity includes competitions and recitals in concert halls in Italy, Sweden, the Republic of Moldova, Bulgaria, Romania, among the most important being: the Palladium hall, Malmo, Sweden, the Art Museum of Brescia, Italy, the Multicultural Centre, Brașov, the “George Enescu” Museum, Suțu Palace, Bucharest.
Andra Daniela Pătraş is a university lecturer at the “Gheorghe Dima” National Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca and she teaches the subjects: Musical Folklore, Folk Song and Musical Secretariat. The didactic activity is intertwined with the artistic one, being a member of the Icoane Romanian Traditional Music Ensemble. Her research activity is oriented both towards the field of musical folklore and cult music, materialized in specialized publications. Andra Pătraș participated in research activities in the field of musical folklore, both as a member in the field collection team, and as a member in the elaboration team of some specialized collections edited by Ileana Szenik and Ioan Bocșa.
